Handling Resistance to Changing YOU

Your past experience as a leader has most likely taught you that change, whether positive or negative, is usually met with some kind of resistance. You can probably think of times when employees resisted changing to a new computer system, a new boss, a new process or policy.

To get the most from your decision to work with an executive coach, you’ll need to pay close attention to your own resistance to change … whether conscious or unconscious … that may undermine your development progress.

If you feel your coaching engagement isn’t going as well as you think it should, you may actually be hindering your own progress by resisting the changes you need to make.
